Solar

Because we’re certified by the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) and members of the Renewable Energy Consumer Code (RECC), we guarantee you the best service and quality before, during and after installation.

Our buying power allows us to provide competitively priced solutions for your Solar PV (photovoltaic) needs.

The financial strength of our business also provides our customers with the confidence that we will be around to service the installations throughout the lifespan of the installation.

Solar PV panels catch the sun’s energy and convert it into electricity that can be used to power appliances and lighting.

This means that you can earn money through generating your own electricity, as well as save on your electricity bills.

According to the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy well over half a million British domestic homes now have panels installed.

You need a south facing roof

To maximise the benefit of a solar PV installation, a predominantly south-facing roof is ideal. If your roof faces south-west or west you’ll still get some benefit, but it may be less effective and you might not get the maximum savings. In addition, you want your roof to be free of shading, particularly between 10am and 4pm.

You need a Grade D Energy Performance Certificate

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rates a building on its energy efficiency
A rating of A is the most efficient and this goes down to G as the most inefficient.

Once you get your rating assessed, it’s valid for 10 years. The amount you get paid for generating electricity depends on your building’s rating.

If you’re assessed and rated E or lower, you’ll need to make the advised improvements to reach grade D before you install solar panels. The Government has an online tool to help find an accredited assessor:
