The Stockholm Road workshop first opened its doors in January 2002 as Hull City Council Fleet & Engineering. Since KWL’s takeover and rebranding in 2012, the facility has continued to provide exceptional support to essential Council services and the general public through independent MOT testing. Now, the workshop is entering an exciting new phase.
KWL Fleet Before the Pit refurbishment
For the first time since opening, KWL Fleet has given its workshop pits a much-needed makeover. This refurbishment creates the safest, most efficient, and welcoming environment possible for our 26 skilled technicians. By addressing challenges such as outdated lighting and faded floor markings, the workspace has been transformed to better support the expertise and dedication of the KWL Fleet team.
The upgrade, expertly carried out by Premier Pits, includes the installation of state-of-the-art LED lighting, dramatically improving visibility and making vehicle inspections easier, safer, and more precise than ever before.
While the new flooring gleams, it is also designed with safety and sustainability in mind. Using an industrial resin flooring surface which offers a non-slip finish similar to tile and is made from 100% recycled plastic, significantly reducing waste. This revolutionary eco-friendly filler technology enhances durability while minimising our environmental footprint.
This comprehensive upgrade not only boosts safety and comfort but also helps us uphold the rigorous standards expected by the DVSA – ensuring every vehicle leaves the workshop in peak condition.
We are incredibly proud of this investment in our people and facilities. A big thank you goes to the contractors, whose exceptional workmanship and professionalism made this transformation possible.
