Our Street Lighting team looks after a total of 39,000 related assets across the City of Hull.
In conjunction with street lighting faults being reported to Hull City Council, we undertake night scouting to identify any lights that are not operational so that we can keep the city illuminated consistently.
In addition to the core street lighting activities, our team often meets the requirements of Hull City Council events activities which includes the Christmas lights programme and providing lighting support for the Hull Fair in October every year.
As part of being a key partner with Hull City Council for the City of Culture 2017, the team assisted along the route for the logistics of delivering the wind turbine blade display that was held in the city centre from January to March 2017. This involved the removal and re-instatement of any street furniture that would have caused obstructions.
