KWL supports everyone’s growth and progression

We are pleased to welcome Mo Fallah to KWL.

He has joined our commercial team recently as a Building Surveyor and has 13 years’ experience in the construction industry, having previously worked for a timber frame company supporting construction projects around the UK.

At KWL, Mo is involved in surveying occupied properties to determine what work is required. So, if anyone has a problem, we send Mo along to solve it!

Mo follows in the family tradition as most of his family also work in construction. His father was an architect and his brother is a structural engineer. He explains:

“I grew up around construction projects, on site and in the office with my father. I chose to study Project Management to have an all-round understanding but decided being a Building Surveyor is what I enjoy the most. Although I love problem solving, it’s not just about the properties, but also about working with people. Our tenants are always pleased to see me as they know I am there to help and resolve their property problems. This can often put their mind at ease as sometimes issues with properties can look worse than they really are.

“Overall, building surveys are about problem solving. Finding the cause and working out the solution. Since being a child, I have always loved puzzles and problem solving.

“I am thoroughly enjoying working at KWL. We have such a great working atmosphere. It’s a really positive environment to be in.”

Even after gaining a Degree in Construction Project Management from Leeds Beckett University, Mo is still keen to undertake further training to improve his knowledge and skills. This year he aims to apply for MCIOB which is the Chartered Institute of Building, the worldwide professional body that represents professionals in the built environment. By becoming Chartered Mo hopes to add to his skills and technical competencies.

He has also completed asbestos training and a damp specialist course.

Mo adds:

“KWL is very supportive when it comes to training and development. This was made clear before I joined but the rest of the team have also found that there is always the opportunity to improve and progress, if that is what we wish to do.”

Originally from Tehran, Iran, Mo has lived in East Yorkshire for 14 years with his wife and their two daughters aged 7 and 15 months.

In his spare time, Mo enjoys spending time with his young family, travelling, and biking.
