In the early days, Paul kickstarted his career with Hull City Council in Building Services, undertaking an apprenticeship in joinery in 1999. In 2003, he was out on his tools, working in his own local community. A proud East Huller, Paul’s connection to the community is deep-rooted, having attended Mallet Lambert School, where his daughter now follows in his footsteps.
Paul’s work life took a turn when he transitioned from hands-on work to supervising fire door replacements in high-rise flats. Initially hesitant about taking on a supervisory role, he credits the support of his then Supervisor and the encouragement of the company for helping him make the leap. Reflecting on his decision, Paul attests that it was the best move of his career, bringing him a sense of satisfaction and growth.
Paul emphasises the camaraderie and the sense of belonging that defines the team’s culture. “Within my team, we pride ourselves on a strong sense of family. We don’t just work together; we socialise, support, and create a collaborative and uplifting environment.”
Mentoring

Into the future, through the KWL Development Programme, Paul envisions further growth and opportunities for advancement within the company. He emphasises the positive changes in customer service across the firm, attributing these improvements to comprehensive training and team-building initiatives.
Beyond work, he is a devoted father of three daughters, and finds balance by spending quality time with friends and keeping fit at the gym.
